IT help for Wellington community groups

The Wellington e-rider IT Service ceased operating in October 2010.

From October 2007 to October 2010 Wellington ICT provided support and advice for community organisations so they could get the most out of their computers.

The e-riders shared their expertise in a way community groups could understand. We covered a wide range of computer issues and opportunities. The advice was 100% independent and offered in a friendly and approachable way.

The sorts of things we worked on included:

Virus protection, firewalls, security patches, back-up and system upgrades
Installing new software
Routine maintenance, including network administration, installing broadband connections and wireless hubs
Developing specifications for a computer system and assisting with the evaluation of proposals

Service discontinued!!

In October 2010 the Wellington e-rider service ceased delivering practical IT support. The Wellington ICT trust delighted to have contributed to the work of many organisations over the three years the service operated.

The service was discontinued as the Trust is embarking on a new direction and will be focusing its resources on capacity building and content development.

We would like to acknowledge, first and foremost, our two e-riders Lindsay Hunter and Jethro Carr. Thanks are due to our funders, and the many other organisations that supported the project during its inception and operation.
